Hydraulic flow requirements vary by model. The 20" Ranch Axe requires a minimum of 17 GPM, while Timberwolf shears operate on 15-30 GPM depending on configuration. The Vortex Brushcutter requires 19-41 GPM depending on standard, medium, or high-flow setup, so matching your skid steer's flow rating is essential.

The Ranch Axe uses solid cast steel shearing arms for 60% stronger performance and ground-level cutting, ideal for ranch and pasture clearing. The Timberwolf features dual grapple arms, an accumulator arm for continuous cutting, and 33% faster shear speed, making it better suited for professional forestry harvesting operations.

The Ranch Axe shears are rated for hardwood species such as mesquite, oak, osage orange (hedge), and locust. However, the 20" Ranch Axe model is not suited for these hardwoods and is intended primarily for softer species like cedar and juniper. Always confirm species compatibility with the manufacturer before purchase.

The Vortex Brushcutter cuts brush and small trees up to 6-8 inches in diameter continuously, with a 750 lb heavy-duty flywheel providing consistent power. It's available in 70" or 80" cutting widths and supports standard, medium, or high hydraulic flow configurations depending on your skid steer.

Maxx Attachments tree shears and brushcutters are compatible with most major skid steer brands, including Bobcat, Case Construction, Caterpillar, Gehl, JCB, John Deere, Kubota, Manitou, New Holland, and Takeuchi, using universal mount coupler hooks and standard flow flat-face couplings.

Shear blades are made from AR400 high tensile steel and are designed to be easily replaced when worn. Timberwolf shear blades can last up to 2,500 hours of use when properly maintained, offering long service life even under heavy forestry and land clearing workloads.
